Because of accepting Jesus as our redeemer we have been forgiven and (more than applies when under the Old Covenant) we have been justified and we are NOW in the kingdom of God.

Colossians 1:11 May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Realising this we should look to the light of the kingdom, Jesus Christ, and be strengthened to live the overcoming life in the power God supplies.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

We have this power in us eternally through Holy Spirit as the saints of God but have to utilise what Jesus has qualified us to have by focusing on Jesus in us the hope of glory and giving thanks to God always for what He has done for us.

You are in the light, so take strength from God to walk in that light and you will be continually purified of all sin!

That's something to rejoice about!
