To live a successful, overcoming life James tells us in his book that when we hear God's word, which would be internally in our spirit or externally from the bible, we must be reciters/repeaters of what God says. Like Jesus we must say what God says. Jesus said nothing except what He heard the Father say.

James 1:22 But be doers/reciters of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer/reciter, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. 24 For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. 25 But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer/reciter who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.

The word translated 'doers' in the book of James in most translations of the bible, is 'poietes' from which we get the word poet. A poet is someone who recites! We are to recite what God says because it's God's word that has power and has the plan for our lives in it.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me a nd come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

When we seek God's plans for us in His word, we will find it and when we recite it, the power in the word of God will bring it to pass. We will find God's plans to save us; deliver us; prosper us; heal us; and give us abundant life in this world and in the next, all in His word!

And since our God is a God of His word we can trust Him to bring it all to pass when we put our faith in Him.
