God Is Not Slow or weak, God Is Patient!

We have to look at God to see how true love is properly played our in real life and how those attributes of love shown in 1 Corinthians 13 are a reflection of God's loving character. Take patience for instance. In the second letter of Peter, Chapter 3. we read this...

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

God epitomizes patience as He waits on us and helps us to come into a loving relationship with Him in this age and to enjoy eternity with Him in the ages to come. This means that many things happen in this age that God does not want, but this age is temporary. The heavens that we see now will be rolled up like a carpet and replaced! This life we have is temporary while we grow in character to be like God's Son Jesus, the Christ.

God has greater things in store for those who come to Him to live by His grace, through faith in Jesus. For us this is just a staging post as we look to Jesus, our model and mentor, who is equipping us to spend an eternity of joy in God's presence!

Psalm 16:11 You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

So to keep in the forefront of our minds the target we are aiming at, we should look at all the attributes in 1 Corinthians, Chapter 13, as throwing a light on what God is really like, for God is Love, and let Him grow those attributes in us.

God wants our ultimate best and He is patient with us as Holy Spirit is changing us day by day, as we yield to His guidance, to be more and more like Jesus, the perfect man.

Best wishes for Grace and the Peace of Jesus.
