One of the things that you soon realise when you read the New Testament is that Jesus only said what he heard the Father say and only did what the Father showed Him. Every red-letter word in your red-letter bible is not what Jesus said; it's what Father God said and then Jesus repeated it to release the power in God's word. Jesus listened for what the Father said and then said or did accordingly.

John 5: 19 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel.

When Jesus was woken up by the disciples and saw them stressed out because of a storm, He asked the Father what He should say; Father God said, 'Say "Peace, be still!"'; so Jesus said "Peace, be still!" We know this because Jesus did nothing of His own accord. He only did what the Father showed Him and miracles flowed!

And we can do the same...

John 14:12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.

Jesus has given us the same promise that He had and fulfilled when He walked the earth. When we listen to what the Father says to us in our heart/spirit and say and do those things, we will do the same things that Jesus did and even greater things!
