About Healing - Don't Doubt!
Our God is a GOOD God and He has already done His part by Grace in supplying all
that we need - salvation, Healing, Wholeness, Peace, Provision, Abundance. We must
access this great grace by faith though.
We can see this kind of faith in action if we look at the book of Matthew,
Chapter 15, verses 21 -28
Matthew 15:21
22 And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying,
Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by
a demon. 23 But he did not answer her a word.
And his disciples came and begged him, saying, Send her away, for she is crying
out after us. 24 He answered,
I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 But she came and knelt before him,
saying, Lord, help me. 26 And he answered,
It is not right to take the children's bread and
throw it to the dogs. 27 She said,
Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters'
table. 28 Then Jesus answered her,
O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as
you desire. And her daughter was healed instantly.
Jesus used this incident to show us the errors of three myths that people have
about praying to God.
1. When Jesus did not answer the lady's prayer immediately his disciples asked
him to send her away to stop her bothering them. We, like the woman though, must
not let a delay in receiving an answer from God make us think that He is not
listening or does not want to be bothered. To use Old Testament parlance - "If
the sky seems like brass, keep praying in faith. God IS listening!
2. When the lady carried on praying, Jesus said that He was only sent
to the tribes of Israel. We likewise can be led to think that God is the God of
only a few favored people. That's not true. Jesus has reconciled the world to God.
This good news is for everyone. We all have access to God's grace through faith
in Jesus. So if someone tells you that "You don't qualify", just keep on praying!
Jesus has qualified you and God has already provided the answer.
3. The third myth is that the blessings of God's provision are limited and not
enough for everyone. Jesus told the lady this saying also to see her reaction.
But she said that, "Even the dogs eat the crumbs from the Master's table".
God's provision is for Jew and Gentile. It's for all!
When Jesus fed the 5000 with just five loaves and three small fishes there were
twelve full baskets left over after all the people (of Israel) had eaten all
that they could. Remember how God had told Abraham that all the nations of the
world would be blessed through him? There was one basket left over 'symbolically'
from every tribe to bless the nations!
So, don't give up praying because of what people may say! God has already made
provision for all the nations and all Israel. YOU are included!
Best wishes for Grace and the Peace of Jesus.
