About Healing - Expect Success!
When Jesus went to get some figs from a tree that professed it had some, but
didn't, He cursed the tree so that no-one would be so disappointed by that
tree again. Having done that He didn't look at the tree again. He knew that
it was dead.
His disciples heard what he said and that evening when they passed by the tree
they looked to see if it had died. It still looked normal. You can tell this
because next morning when they once more passed by the tree it was
now withered and Peter exclaimed, "Master look, the fig tree that you cursed
has died!"
Jesus didn't even look up. He just said to Peter, "Have the faith of God!"
Jesus expects us to have the kind of faith that he had and talked about in
Mark 11:24
Mark 11:24 Therefore I
tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it
will be yours.
Like Jesus did, we must believe that we have already received what we ask for,
when we speak it out Don't be like Peter and Thomas at this stage in their
walk with Christ when they only believed 'after' they had seen it!
Remember Jesus did not say that we would have it 'immediately' every time, but "it
will be yours"!
Another thing which can limit the success we see, is not realizing that it is God's
will to heal. On one occassion a man with leprosy asked Jesus a telling question.
Mark 8:2-3
And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you will,
you can make me clean.”
And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying,
“I will; be clean.”
And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
So we see from Jesus, who is the express image of the Father, that it is God's will
to heal. We therefore should have no doubt.
Mark 11:23 Truly, I say to you, whoever
says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and thrown into the sea', and does not doubt
in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done
for him.
Speak to your mountain and believe "then"! The visible results may not be
immediate. The fig tree was not seen to be dead until the next day!
But until what we pray for manifests, 'we are to walk by faith not by sight'.
Best wishes for Grace and the Peace of Jesus.
