Faith Appropriates What God Has Already Done!
From what I see in the bible, faith does not move God to act. Rather, Faith
appropriates what God has already provided! Take this incident in the gospel of Mark,
Chapter 11.

Mark 11:22 So Jesus answered and said to them,
Have faith in God 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain,
˜Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes
that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive
them, and you will have them.
We do not have the power to GET God to do anything. The "whatever things you ask"
in verse 24 does not mean that you can ask for something illegal and God will be
forced to do it for you! What your faith does is appropriate what God has already
done by His grace.
God did not provide for you to do evil things
by grace so you cannot get them through faith. When Jesus finished all that He did
for us He sat down on the right hand of the father. He doesn't have anything to do
for us which is making Him get up and see to every request we make. Healing, Joy,
peace, shalom, salvation, and all things that we need have already been provided by
Jesus. It's already 'there' in the spirit realm. God has given it all to us by His
grace. We access it by faith.
Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be
the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every
spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before
the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.
Of course those people who think that their faith moves God need an excuse when the
pleading and begging for God to move and do something for them doesn't work. Their
philosophy then often becomes that "God could do it but He's obviously withheld His
favour in His sovereign will". "God must be trying to teach them a lesson".
"They've done their part in begging and pleading and crying, so it must be God who
isn't moving".
This salves their conscience; puts the blame (they think) for lack of results in
God's court; and means they can wash their hands regarding looking for a better
answer and a better way to pray.
The truth though is this....
We have the power in us, but it's accessed via the law of faith which God has given,
and by which His power operates. So what we need is knowledge of what God has
already done for us, the faith of Jesus which God has given us and to remove unbelief!
1 John 2:20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One,
and you know all things.
Romans 3:27 Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded.
By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith.
All the knowledge about what God has already done by grace is in your spirit but YOU
may have to confess (speak) the scriptures for your healing, "By His stripes we were
healed", ten thousand times before YOUR faith is raised to the point where you access
the grace God has placed in you for healing.
Don't blame God. Get close to him and grow in the faith so that you can access
the blessings He has already provided for yourself and others. Don't give up; look in
God's word for His answer to why you are not yet using his law of faith
correctly.
Keep a burning desire to do what Jesus did; He said we would do all the things that He
did and even greater things!
Let's follow up God's promptings with action. Follow God's will. Build faith; remove all the
doubt that you can from your heart. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the (Rhema)
word of God. When we've heard ten thousand times, we'll see what our new faith can do!
We Christians shouldn't stop until we win!
Best wishes for Grace and the Peace of Jesus.
Attlee.
