Jesus Has Your Picture In His Wallet!

There are two kinds of people they say - those who think how great they are and those who think how great Jesus is!

When we focus on and appreciate Jesus' love for us, as is mentioned in the book of John, Chapter 13, we just naturally want to follow Him wherever He leads. John realised that Jesus loved Him and boasted of Jesus' love, not his own!

John 13:23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.

At that supper on the night before Jesus died, by contrast, Peter boasted of his love for Jesus.

Matthew 26:33 Peter said to him, "Even if everyone else abandons you, I never will".

We see the results of these two attitudes later when Jesus was crucified.

The disciple whom Jesus loved was at the foot of the cross and Jesus could ask him to look after His mother. Peter though had denied knowing Jesus three times and run away!

Recognising and appreciating God's love for us; focusing on Jesus' love in and for us will enable us, indeed empower us, to follow him.

Just as we should boast of Jesus' obedience and righteousness imputed to us and not our own obedience or righteousness, we should like 'the disciple Jesus loved' recognise and boast in Jesus' love for us.

He loves you so much that figuratively, "Jesus keeps your picture in His wallet"!

Best wishes for Grace and the Peace of Jesus.
Attlee.
