Jesus has provided for our salvation in every sense. The Greek word 'sozo' that is translated 'save' means healing and wholeness as well as save, and Jesus has provided for our healing, wholeness and salvation in His atonement sacrifice.

When we teach people about the good news that Jesus brought we are offering them access into a covenant with God in which they can have all that God has, because they will be made 'sons of God'.

1 John 4:17By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgement, because as he is so also are we in this world.

Our God is a good God and through the gospel or 'good news' He invites us to join Him in eternity through the provision He made for us by His Son Jesus dying for our sins. We also can enjoy an abundant life now because Jesus was chastised for our 'shalom' or 'peace and wholeness' and by His stripes (the beating and torture He took for us), He provided healing for all sickness, oppression and disease.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed.

The gospel believer receives the Holy Spirit and power to access all these things.

Romans 1:16 The gospel is the power of God unto salvation.

We couldn't save ourselves so God sent His Son, who is God, to do for us what we could not do for ourselves. He came down to our level because we could not get up to His! But, having done this; lived a perfect life and then died for us; He empowers us by His grace to follow His footsteps.

What a good God we worship!
