Getting to know God and having Him communicate with us Spirit to spirit, we renew our minds and and learn what is the will of God for us. But it's not so that we can have head knowledge and think how good and obedient we are. It's so that we can utilise the gifts in us through the Holy Spirit for the good of all; those in the Church and those not yet in the Church.

Romans 12:4 For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, 5 so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 6 Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; 7 if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; 8 the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.

Father God gives us the gifts and gives us the power and ability through Holy Spirit to use them for good and then rewards us for using the gifts for the benefit of others! The blessing we have are not just eternal life; there are blessings in the here and now (the blessing of Abraham) and in the age to come eternal life!

Where can you get a better deal than that!
