GOD Will Do It!
We can easily panic when we see what happened to some people of God in
earlier times if we don't appreciate the personal attention that God gave
to each of them.
When we see the things that Jesus has asked His disciples to do we can
panic if we don't appreciate that He is with us always and it is He who
will do those things through us.
The effect of our lack of knowledge about God is that our faith in Him is
diminished and we can read Jesus' words in Matthew, Chapter 10, verses 7-8
this way...
Matthew 10:7-8 ? 'And as you go, pray that God will
send ministers to proclaim the good news that the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Also pray to God for Him to heal the sick, and pray that He will
raise the dead, and pray that He will cleanse lepers, and pray that He will
cast out demons. You received without paying; pray that God will also give
to others without payment'.
Many people live their lives in that mode of un-belief because they are scared
by talk of satan's power and what He can do, and everything good is for God to
do according to His sovereign will.
We must remember though that satan has been defeated by Jesus. It's Jesus who
has all authority and power in Heaven and Earth and under the Earth! And He,
that is JESUS lives in us and will never leave us. He has empowered us
with His grace and we access this power by faith. He loves us and has only
'Good' in mind for us, so we can trust him. And when we trust Him His yoke
is easy and WE can do what what He delegates and empowers us to do!
When we think like this we can understand and believe what Paul says in
Philipians 2:13.
Philipians 2:13 For it is God who works in you both
to will and to do of his good pleasure.
And Paul could also say this in 1 Corinthians 15:10.
1 Corinthians 15:10 But whatever I am now, it is
all because God poured out his special favor on me--and not without results.
For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I
but God who was working through me by his grace.
When we know Jesus better and see how He loves us we will be able to give
ourselve to do his will also. In that case we will read Jesus' words to us in
Matthew 10, verses 7-8 as they truly are!
Matthew 10:7-8And (you believers!) proclaim as you go, saying,
‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8 (You) Heal the sick, raise the dead,
cleanse lepers, and cast out demons. You received without paying; give
without pay.
We'll be able to do these things because of knowing who we are in Jesus
and what power He has deligated to us and as Paul did we'll be able to say for
ourselves, with joy...
I did it, yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace.
Best wishes for Grace and the Peace of Jesus.
